What a great time of year even with the bugs. June can be a time where people start to feel good and start doing more. What a great opportunity to practice self-care and get in as many positive events as possible before we go into the colder months again. Just remember that self-care is a daily thing. Going conoeing and playing tennis are great summer activites. Walking and biking are also great. Enjoy the sun and the rain.

Holidays can be a tough time when not properly prepared or for those without others to spend the holidays together. A great way to help with this is to help others by volunteering at a church or senior center. Also, reach out to others who might be in the same situation, Spend time together when able. Have a safe and wonderful holiday.

What is self-care and why is it important?
Self-care helps us to cope with daily stressors.
Stress is simply a reaction, either real or imagined, to situations, events or people. People may experience symptoms of anxiety, worry, and withdrawal when people are suffering from stress. We may even start taking actions to escape the stressful feelings. These might not always be positive and practicing self-care can help people get back to what works.
The most common trigger of stress is loss; the loss of, or change in a relationship, the loss of another person (Grief), or the loss of stability associated with change (job).
